Values & Leadership Philosophy

Obaa Yaa’s leadership philosophy is built on five foundational qualities.

Great leadership is not defined solely by the volume of one’s voice, but by the steadiness of one’s hand, the reliability of one’s word, and the dependability of principled and disciplined service.

The New Patriotic Party requires, at this critical juncture, a National 1st Vice Chairperson who embodies not slogans, but a set of lived, tested values.

Empathy

The ability to lead with empathy and a listening ear — ensuring that no member, from the most senior patron to the most recently enrolled grassroots volunteer, ever feels unheard, unseen, or undervalued. A party that does not listen to its own people cannot credibly promise to listen to a nation.

Calmness

A temperament that remains composed under pressure, that does not fracture in the heat of crisis, and that provides the party with a grounding presence in moments of turbulence. Our party has endured seasons of storm. What it needs now is not more thunder — but the quiet authority that brings the rain to an end.

Comfort

An assurance to every member — from the branch executive in the most distant region to the polling station officer on the frontline — that there is a reliable, approachable leader within the national structure who prioritises their concerns, who answers when called, and who shows up when it matters.

Wisdom

Sound counsel, measured judgement, and the capacity to offer perspective that transforms challenges into opportunities. Wisdom is not the absence of difficulty; it is the presence of discernment in the midst of it. Obaa Yaa brings to this contest decades of service, a record of considered decision-making, and the temperament to counsel without seeking credit.

Unity

The confidence that the party’s internal cohesion — its unity of purpose, its shared values, its bonds of trust between leaders and members — is actively protected and nurtured. When the membership has peace of mind, the party has the freedom to focus outward: on policy, on communication, on victory.

Governing Principles

The principles guiding her leadership.

Fairness & Respect

Every member, at every level, deserves dignity. No one is too small to matter.

Humility in Service

The unglamorous work — the minutes, the logistics, the planning committees — is where real leadership is forged.

Inclusiveness

From the Women’s Wing to the Youth Wing, from Nasara to the diaspora — every constituency deserves to be seen.

Consistency

She has served in opposition and in government. The measure of a leader is their conduct when no one is watching.

Transparency

No hidden agendas. No factional alignments. No power-bloc debts. She answers only to the membership.

Results-Driven Leadership

Three thousand clients at her firm. A 40-foot container of medical supplies to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Leadership is measured in outcomes, not titles.
